Boutique & Children's Consignment Shop

How to consign? I try to keep the consignment process fairly simple.

1/31/12

I am done taking clothes for the season.

Feb. 20-25th: CLOSED

March 1-3rd (Thursday, Friday, Saturday): I will take spring consignment from Current Consignors (1 load of 30)

March 6-9th: End of Season 50% off SALE

March 10th: End of Season 75% off SALE

March 13-17th: Any fall/winter items that have not sold need to be picked up by 3:00 Sat. Any items left after that point become property of the store, and will get donated. I will also take spring summer items from new and current consignors starting this week.

You can stop in during store hours, just know that you have long enough to stay the first few times so that I can go over your items with you, you can see how I sort and what I am looking for.

  • I accept New Born- size 14 in clothes, and all sizes in shoes. ** Now accepting Maternity, see below for Maternity criteria.

  • Clothes must be in excellent condition.

  • Please have all clothing freshly laundered. Everyone washes clothes before they put them into storage. There is a difference between fresh and clean. Before you bring in clothes, wash them again, dry them and fold them neatly. I actually prefer clothes are not hung.

  • Have all the clothes "put together", zip zippers, button buttons, snap sleepers, etc.

  • Please also check coat pockets before washing and dropping off, I have been finding all sorts of "goodies" in the pockets lately.

  • You love your pets, other people do not, please make sure they are free of pet hair. I know this is not easy, I have a dog and a cat myself. A good lint brush can do wonders.
  • Consignment split is 50% of the selling price.

Maternity:

  • You can bring in 10 items (this does not count toward you 30 per week total)
  • Clothes must say Maternity on the label
  • Clothes must be current styles
  • Please have everything freshly laundered and neatly folded

Tips on how to check your clothes.

In general: babies stain the necklines (and poop stains on bottoms), boys are hard on the knees and girls are hard on the sleeves.

Tops:

Look at the main body of the shirt for spots, loose threads or seams, and small holes. Don't forget to look at the back, I do not know how they do it, but kids get the back of their shirts very dirty!

Take the sleeves and fold them against the body to look for any stains or discoloration on the cuffs.

Bottoms:

Look at the knees for wear, and then flip to check the bottoms.

Snowpants for what ever reason give out in the crotch.

Shoes:

Check the toes for scuff marks and wear, look at the heals kids walk on the backs as they outgrow them, check the bottom of the heals for too much wear. Finally give them a quick sniff!
